Midwich has been appointed as the sole UK distribution partner for the Surface II touch solution, jointly developed by Microsoft and Samsung.
The distributor has tipped Surface II for a number of vertical markets including education, automotive, healthcare, hospitality, financial services, advertising, retail and professional services. The 40” unit allows digital content to be manipulated by touch. A 360° interface and support for more than 50 touch points enables several users to interact simultaneously.
Object recognition is also a core feature of Microsoft Surface II. The major change in this latest version is the adoption of Windows 7, allowing portability to all types of hardware running the same operating system. In addition, Microsoft Surface II now supports dual orientation: horizontal as before, and now also vertical, thanks to a thickness of four inches and integrated corner-mounted accelerometers.
Resellers can use this new vision based solution to attract new customers, improve brand perception, transform a customer experience and increase customer loyalty.
Darren Lewitt, group AV director, said: “I believe that Midwich is best positioned to manage the integration process between system integrators and the Microsoft software developers. There are a number of unique benefits that the Midwich Group can offer, being the only major AV distributor with a dedicated technical solutions division (True Colours) is a key factor, as it allows us to manage the support of this solution at every level of integration.”
