When one of Europe's most successful football teams wanted to present its history and activities it embarked on building an exciting and engaging exhibition. The resulting 'Erlebniswelt', housed in the iconic Allianz Arena, topped the Leisure and Entertainment category in the 2013 InAVation Awards.
Last year German football club FC Bayern Munich unveiled a visitor attraction at its home the Allianz Arena. Here, visitors can view trophies, play games and learn about club trivia and players’ details.
But the exhibition was designed to do more than just explain the 112-year history of what is currently the most successful football club in Germany. For Bayern Munich it was essential that its new experience, or Erlebniswelt, engaged and interacted with its loyal and growing fanbase.
It started looking for partners to help it deliver the project in March 2011 and, after a tender process, struck up a relationship with Austrian manufacturer AV Stumpfl. The timing was good. AV Stumpfl was on the cusp of unveiling a new suite of control products and the Erlebniswelt was a perfect chance to develop, test and deploy the new solutions.
The final project brought together the work of scenographer Ranger Design; content creators Evisco, 2AV and Webpartner; technical media designers Medienprojekt p2 and techniz; and local integrator Wilhelm & Willhalm.
