AV brand experience specialist, First Impression, has announced that it has achieved B Corp certification, achieving a standard of social and sustainable business practices.
B Lab, the global organisation behind the B Corp certification, assess companies in five impact areas, assessing the company’s impact on employees, community, customers, environment, and governance.
Companies must score at least 80 out of a possible 200 points, documenting how their decisions affect all stakeholders. Companies are re-evaluated every three years to ensure the companies continue to meet stringent standards for recertification.
First Impression scored 87.8 points, earning B Corp status, standing out in the areas of employee relations, governance, and environmental responsibility.
Ron Haans, CEO and founder, First Impression, commented: “We’re not an obvious industry to champion sustainability, but perhaps that’s why we’re so motivated to elevate ourselves and others in our field. Achieving this certification is just the beginning. We hope to inspire our stakeholders and competitors to also strive for the best. We can achieve this through even stronger collaboration.”
“An important step we took was to update our company bylaws. We’ve now formally committed to operating our business in ways that always consider both people and the environment.”
