ZeeVee has released the 4.0 version of its ZyPer management platform, featuring a new visualisation, analysis and monitoring (VAM) tool to provide an overview of an AVoIP-based system.
The VAM tool allows integrators and end-users to visualise, analyse and monitor multicast traffic on an AV network, while also identifying potential issues where bandwidth limits may be exceeded.
ZyPer now enables graphical representation of each aspect of the system, visualising all switches and endpoints. All multicast streams between ZyPer encoder and decoder endpoints can now be visualised, while also working over LAG trunks.
The analysis tools allows users to analyse systems in real-time, with access to switch related data such as IP addresses and current firmware versions, indicating the status and allocated bandwidth of individual ports.
With the new monitoring feature, service providers and system managers can observe individual switch ports/links data via multiple live chart options such as multicast packet rates, port bandwidth, and network errors.
Graphical indication of trunk oversubscription can also be visualised, including links within a LAG. Automated checking of switch configurated for AVoIP operation is also available, as well as warning generations where necessary. Detailed switch configuration and operational data is available for system-level parameters.
On the security side, 802.1X security support is now available for ZyPer4K-XS and ZyPer4K-XR AVoIP encoders and decoders, allowing the network to identify a connected device and grant or deny access.
