PPDS expands digital signage design options with ultra-wide Philips Stretch 3150

PPDS has announced the launch of the Philips Stretch 3150, an ultra-wide 32:9 digital signage display designed for continuous 24/7 operation in space-constrained environments.

The 37-in display, with a resolution of 1920 x 540, expands on the earlier Philips S-Line introduced in 2022 and reflects the evolving needs of the market. According to PPDS, the aim is to offer greater creative flexibility without compromising brightness, reliability or energy efficiency.

The Philips Stretch 3150 delivers 700 cd/m sq brightness and is designed for both portrait and landscape mounting. With a weight of 7.6kg and narrow bezels (7.7mm left/right, 14mm top/bottom), the display is intended for locations where conventional signage formats are impractical, such as above shelving, on kiosks or within temporary retail installations.

Like its predecessor, the Stretch format is well suited to applications including branding, wayfinding, live information displays and menu boards. The new model also supports daisy-chaining via HDMI, allowing multiple displays to be tiled together and driven from a single external source for larger installations.

A key update is the move to Android 13 System on Chip, enabling native app installation directly on the display and removing the need for an external media player in many deployments. Content can be managed via the cloud, local storage or USB, with optional wireless connectivity provided through a discreet CRD32 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module.

The Stretch 3150 is also compatible with Philips Wave, PPDS’ cloud platform for remote monitoring, content management, firmware updates and power scheduling. Alongside operational efficiencies, PPDS says the platform supports sustainability goals by reducing site visits and associated travel.

Energy efficiency has also been improved, with PPDS claiming a 60% reduction in power consumption compared with the previous generation. Typical power usage is quoted at 26W, earning the display an EU Energy Label rating of F.

The Philips Stretch 3150 is available now and will be shown publicly for the first time at ISE 2026 in Barcelona, on the Philips booth.
