Matrox Video and Amagi partner on software-defined cloud broadcast workflows
Matrox Video and Amagi have announced a strategic collaboration to integrate the Matrox Origin framework into Amagi’s cloud production architecture, targeting greater scalability and flexibility in broadcast workflows.

The partnership centres on the integration of Matrox Origin, a software-defined framework designed to act as a core video pipeline fabric within cloud environments. By embedding Origin into Amagi’s next-generation platform, the companies aim to support broadcasters transitioning away from fixed, hardware-led infrastructure towards dynamically orchestrated, cloud-native operations.

From a technical perspective, the integration focuses on decoupling traditional broadcast functions from dedicated hardware. Instead, Matrox Origin provides a flexible processing layer that can be deployed across cloud environments, supporting rapid provisioning and reconfiguration of video workflows.

Francesco Scartozzi, VP of sales and business development at Matrox Video, said the collaboration marks “a significant step forward for cloud-based broadcast workflows,” adding that it enables broadcasters to move beyond legacy constraints and adopt operations that can adapt in real time.

Srividhya Srinivasan, co-founder and CTO at Amagi, highlighted the role of Origin’s video pipeline capabilities in expanding the company’s cloud platform, supporting “highly flexible, scalable broadcast operations.”
