Genelec updates ’˜The Ones’ family with new models

Genelec has expanded its ‘The Ones’ series of point source monitors with two new models of three-way coaxial monitors, the 8351B and 8361A and the W371A adaptive woofer system.

The Ones, originally launched in 2014, is joined by the largest coaxial monitor in the series, the 8361A, featuring two acoustically concealed woofers and new MDC coaxial midrange and tweeter drivers providing directivity, low distortion, high SPL and frequency response up to 40 kHz.

The 8361A’s minimum diffraction enclosure eliminates colouration with its front baffle acting as a directivity control waveguide.

Class D amplification is complemented by DSP processing, including delay equalisation and 20 precision EQs for room compensation.

The upgraded 8351B features increased SPL, additional room compensation EQs, equalised delay and improved HF response.

The W371A adaptive woofer system is designed to complement the Genelec 8341, 8351 and 8361 monitors, to be used in conjunction with these models to create a series of full-range monitoring systems.

The adaptive woofer features dual woofers, one forward facing and one rear facing

Users can switch between nearfield and main monitors without image-shifting, with users able to tailor system performance across the room over the lowest four octaves.

All models in The Ones range integrate with Genelec’s GLM software which can configure, calibrate and control the Genelec smart monitoring systems.
