Genelec to showcase updated F series subwoofers at High End Munich 2019

Genelec will highlight updates to the connectivity, performance and feature set of its F series home audio subwoofers, featuring two new models as part of the updated range.

The two updated models, the F One and F Two model active subwoofers feature optical and coaxial digital inputs, higher SPL, updated remote capability, new DIP switch features and an improved power supply and amplifier design.

Both models include stereo analogue inputs on RCA and a 3.5mm stereo jack, an analogue LFE input on RCA and stereo analogue outputs on RCA.

The F Two also features stereo analogue outputs on XLR, making it compatible with Genelec loudspeakers and features a Link connector for daisy chaining multiple subwoofers.

Both models also feature analogue bass management, with fixed 85 Hz crossovers on the analogue I/O, allowing all inputs to be connected simultaneously with automatic input detection, then prioritising the digital input.

A choice of three remote control options are available, with the default RF remote control shipping with the subwoofer.

Users can teach Infa-Red remotes to control key subwoofer functions, with an optional Genelec hard-wired volume control available as an accessory.

The new models feature a universal voltage switched-mode power supply and Class D amplifier stage for higher SPL output, with the range of user-adjustable DIP switches being expanded to allow activation and adjustment of Genelec’s ISS Intelligent Signal Sensing circuitry.

A home theatre (HT) mode is provided, setting the gain to maximum when the analogue inputs are in use and disabling the remote-control volume, allowing the volume to be controlled via the user’s surround preamplifier.
