Dynacord has released version 1.6 of Sonicue Sound System Software, adding DSP functions, improved third-party integration and broader control hardware options for installed audio systems.
The update introduces Automixer and Ducker functionality for Dynacord’s IX Series multichannel DSP networked power amplifiers. The Automixer uses the same gain-sharing algorithm as the MXE5-64 Matrix Mix Engine and can be selected across all inputs, with adjustable speed for applications including houses of worship and conference spaces.
The new Ducker function allows music or background sources to be automatically attenuated by microphone activity, triggered by any mix bus or input used as a sidechain source. Both features are configured within Sonicue, allowing installers to add processing capability through the amplifier without specifying an additional DSP device.
Sonicue 1.6 also expands TaskEngine integration, adding protocol blocks for TCP, UDP, WebSocket and PJLink. This allows Sonicue to communicate directly with third-party devices using standard IP-based commands, including projector control and status monitoring through PJLink.
Dedicated blocks for Visionary Solutions AV encoder and decoder units have also been added, enabling audio and video control through a single Sonicue interface. Dynacord said these additions allow Sonicue Control to act as the main control system in smaller installations.
The release also adds native support for Android-based control hardware. Sonicue Control can now run on off-the-shelf tablets and touch panels, with an Install version for fixed panels and a Mobile version for tablets and smartphones. Both support Android 12 and higher.
Further updates include the ability to change speaker modes without disconnecting loudspeakers from the amplifier, improved drag-and-drop support in Panel Designer and TaskEngine, and five new demo projects for different installation scenarios.
Sonicue 1.6 is available now as a free download from Dynacord.
