Digital Projection previews 8K laser projector

Digital Projection is claiming a world first as it previews 8K laser projector Insight Dual Laser 8K and will add LED videowalls to its portfolio with the launch of Radiance when it exhibits at ISE 2018.

The manufacturer will be celebrating 10 years at the ISE show when it exhibits on stand 1-F70 at the Amsterdam RAI, February, 6 to 9, 2018.

It claims the Insight Dual laser 8K unit is set to be the world’s first commercially available DLP laser 8K projector. The solid-state laser phosphor product provides 8K resolution (7680 X 4320), 33 million pixels and 25,000 ANSI lumens. It is designed for high end applications in medical, scientific and immersive visualisation and large-venues. It uses DLP technology incorporating 3x 1.38-in DarkChip DMD chips and Digital Projection’s ColorMax technology.

The projector features MultiAxis orientation capability for portrait or landscape use, as well as angles in between, A number of optional lenses are available. The product is expected to ship in the third quarter of 2018.

It will be shown alongside a range of Digital Projection solid-state projectors, from 1-chip to 2-chip DLP and with resolutions from WUXGA to 8K. The range includes the E-Vision Laser and Highlite Laser products. Also on the stand will be the M-Vision Laser 18K, shortlisted in the Technology for Entertainment and Live Events category of the 2018 InAVation Awards.  

Digital Projection will also launch Radiance LED to the European market. The 120Hz and 3D capable Narrow Pixel Pitch (NPP) LED panels range from 1.26 to 2.53mm.

The Black SMD LED range includes four models (Radiance LED 1.2, 1.5, 1.9 and 2.5) and offers up to 1,000 nits of brightness, a contrast ratio of 3000:1 and a 120Hz refresh rate. They have a lifetime rated at 50,000 hours and are built on a native 16:9 aspect ratio to offer full HD 1080p imagery and Ultra-HD 4K. They are suited for use in retail, broadcast, command and control, visitor attraction, house of worship and rental entertainment applications.

Digital Projection says the LED videowalls provide a 160-degree viewing angle and fan-less operation.

Each Radiance LED panel is front-service accessible and Digital Projection has a “Concierge Service” to provide customer assistance. 

The 1.5mm pixel pitch 3D capable Radiance LED will be on stand, while other resolutions are also currently shipping.
