Clear-Com launches Avalon IP intercom platform for networked production
Clear-Com has introduced Avalon, a 1RU IP intercom platform designed for modern networked production workflows across broadcast, live events and production environments.

The platform supports FreeSpeak wireless beltpacks, HelixNet digital partyline, V-Series and I.V. Direct within a compact rack-mounted form factor.

Avalon is designed for fully IP-based intercom systems and provides an alternative for users who do not require analogue audio connectivity. It combines scalable licensed port capacity with flexible IP interfacing, allowing users to configure systems around current operational needs and expand capacity over time without replacing hardware.

The platform supports AES67, Dante and Clear-Com’s I.V. Direct technologies for local and remote connectivity, making it suitable for productions and installations operating on converged network infrastructures.

Dave MacKinnon, VP of product management at Clear-Com, said: “We focused on simplifying deployment while maintaining the flexibility and performance our customers expect. The result is a modern IP platform that enables teams to scale efficiently and communicate reliably across a wide range of environments.”

Avalon sits alongside Clear-Com’s Arcadia Central Station, which remains in the company’s portfolio for applications requiring hybrid analogue and IP connectivity, front-panel control and legacy system support.

Frank Linton, product manager at Clear-Com, said: “The licensed port architecture allows users to scale capacity over time without replacing hardware, while support for open standards helps simplify integration into existing workflows.”

Clear-Com said Avalon is intended for space-constrained environments and will be available soon through its global network.
