ATEN launches HDMI Cat6 KVM extender with 70-metre reach

ATEN has introduced the CE801 4K HDMI Cat6 KVM extender, which can delivers 4K visuals with HDR10, digital audio, USB peripheral transmission, and uninterrupted serial control over distances of up to 70 metres via a single Cat6 cable.

Designed for environments where both clarity and control are mission-critical, the CE801 is suitable for applications ranging from control rooms and retail to healthcare, manufacturing.

The CE801 delivers True 4K (3840 × 2160 @ 60 Hz, 4:4:4) up to 70 metres, with Long-Reach Mode extending 1080p transmission to 100 metres. 

ATEN CE801 provides dual console access, enabling both local and remote users to control the system. Pressing the push button on the CE801L (Local) grants the local console priority KVM access to the source PC at any time in Local Mode, and pressing the button again releases this priority in Auto Mode, allowing KVM access from either the local or remote console, whichever gains control first. Administrators can prioritise local console access or share access between both ends, ensuring collaboration and secure management.

The CE801 delivers HDMI video, USB keyboard/mouse, RS-232 control, and audio over a single Cat6 cable for easy setup and stable extension. EDID switches on the CE801L (Local) optimise HDMI output quality, while the CE801R’s (Remote) RS-232 port supports direct integration with devices like touchscreens or barcode scanners, ensuring smooth communication and accurate data transfer between local and remote sites.
