Yamaha brings hands-on audio training to South Africa
Yamaha Music South Africa is celebrating the successful delivery of a four-day Yamaha Audioversity training event at the World of Yamaha in Johannesburg.

The training for audio professionals was presented by Yamaha’s Andy Cooper who has decades of experience, including the development of global Dante training courses and more than 150 technical videos on Yamaha’s YouTube channel. Cooper offered attendees a hands-on approach to Yamaha’s digital sound technologies, from mixing consoles to networked audio systems.

Workshops, held across four days, explored Yamaha’s full ecosystem of professional audio products. Training began with an overview of Yamaha’s MI-PA systems and the compact DM3 digital mixing console, progressing through the DM7 series and culminating in an in-depth session on the flagship Rivage PM series. The final day focused on complete audio system training, providing participants with an understanding of Yamaha’s solutions and their real-world applications.

As a Yamaha Pro Audio partner, integrator Stage Audio Works supported the event and engaged with clients throughout the training.

Gary Furman, sales professional at Stage Audio Works, said: “Having the opportunity to engage with our clients in an environment where mutual learning and knowledge sharing is the foundation of the interaction, brings a different and welcome dynamic. The focus here was to learn and progress as individuals, professionals, and as companies.”

Professionals from a range of sectors including live events, houses of worship, educational institutions, and freelance engineers attended the event.
