Sennheiser hits the road to demo EW-DX Evolution wireless mic products
Sennheiser has revealed dates for an EMEA tour to show off new products in its Evolution Wireless Digital series of microphones.

The audio manufacturer will use the tour to engage the rental market, theatres, sound engineers, RF technicians and channel partners with presentations, tests and demos of the EW-DX and EW-D technology. It will engage with end-users and offer hands-on experience with new system as well as offering refresher training on its full range of capsules and microphone elements.

EW-DX offers low latency, convenient and spectrum-saving equidistant frequency spacing, and ultra-wide input dynamic range. An Auto Scan function automatically assigns frequencies using an equidistant tuning grid that allows more channels to be packed into a given frequency window.

Sennheiser says EW-DX adds new options including two- and four-channel receivers, new handheld, bodypack and table stand transmitters, and a wider switching bandwidth of 88 MHz, AES 256 encryption and e-ink displays. Transmitters are synchronised via Bluetooth Low Energy.

EW-DX will be integrated into the Sennheiser Control Cockpit software, Wireless Systems Manager desktop software and Smart Assist App.

Among the countries visited by the Sennheiser team between October 2022 and January 2023 will be Leipzig, Neu-Ulm and Hamburg (Germany); Nieuwegein (Netherlands); Puurs (Belgium); London (UK); Lyon, Nantes and Paris (France); Stockholm (Sweden); Zurich (Switzerland); and Dubai (UAE).

Volker Schmitt, manager, technical application engineering at Sennheiser, said: “We have designed these events for everyone working with live audio production and wireless microphone systems such as sound engineers, designers, theatre ops and AV techs.

“We also welcome production managers, live performance venues, audio consultants, and all the teams involved in selling and renting radio mics at Sennheiser channel partners. During each event, our attendees will have a first-hand look and feel of the new EW-DX system and be able to discuss their questions in person with Sennheiser’s technical experts. We really look forward to these face-to-face gatherings where we can meet with our customers, as well as hear the views and opinions of industry experts and colleagues.”
