Located in Zurich’s prestigious Paradeplatz, Mews House is a new concept hospitality venue that blends boutique accommodation, dining, retail and events under one roof. Housed in a historic 17th-century building, the venue has been reimagined as a curated, multi-use destination designed to deliver a premium guest experience.
With three luxury guest suites, a restaurant, bar, retail space and multiple event areas, exclusivity and attention to detail are central to the Mews House offering. As a full refurbishment of a historic building, Mews House required a completely new AV and IT infrastructure.
Audio needed to serve a wide range of use cases, from background music in hospitality spaces to in-room entertainment for guests, while maintaining simplicity for both staff and visitors, whilst not intruding with the building’s high-end aesthetic.
One of the key challenges was balancing system-wide control with guest privacy. While the venue required a single, unified audio ecosystem, individual guests needed to interact only with the system in their own rooms. The broader smart building environment, which uses a KNX system, also meant audio needed to integrate seamlessly with lighting, climate control and concierge services, all accessible via in-room iPads.

To meet these requirements, Mews House implemented a Sonos system throughout the property.
Partner SAT Multimedia delivered the system and managed the initial installation, working with Stilus, an added-value distributor that supported concept design, planning and commissioning. Speakers are installed in almost every space, including guest suites, restaurant, bar, retail area and rooftop terrace. A total of 15 pairs of Sonos Era 100 Pro were installed throughout the venue, with five Sonos Arc Ultra soundbars deployed in guest rooms. Outdoor audio is supported by two Outdoor Speakers by Sonos and Sonance, with Sonos Amp units forming the backbone of the system.
The system is divided into multiple zones, covering areas including the indoor and outdoor bar, restaurant, retail and individual guest rooms. This zoning allows staff to tailor audio to different settings and moments throughout the day. Control is handled primarily through iPads and mobile devices, enabling staff to manage playlists, group zones or adjust audio instantly. Guests, meanwhile, can access their own private audio environment within their rooms, ensuring a personalised experience
