Sydney-based technical supplier Scene Change Sydney deployed a large-scale ROE Visual LED system to support Australia’s 2025 ARIA Awards, delivering a flexible stage environment designed to meet the demands of a high-profile live broadcast.
Produced by Second Sunday, the awards ceremony required a visually striking yet technically robust LED solution capable of handling varied lighting conditions and multiple performance formats. Scene Change selected LED technology from ROE Visual, combining products from its Topaz and Graphite ranges to create an LED canvas totalling more than 260 sq m.
The main stage backdrop for award presentations was constructed using a mix of Topaz and Graphite panels, while ROE Visual Vanish 8S LED was used to realise a concave-shaped performance stage. The transparent characteristics of the Vanish panels allowed Scene Change to create depth and curvature on stage without compromising sightlines or camera performance.

Content processing and distribution were handled by six 4K Tessera SX40 processors and 18 Tessera XD data distribution units from Brompton Technology. The system was configured to ensure consistent image quality across the different LED products, supporting on-camera colour accuracy and uniform brightness while avoiding artefacts or colour shift under changing lighting conditions.
According to John Dinh, director at Scene Change Sydney, reliability was a critical factor in the technology selection. He says the company continues to rely on ROE Visual products for major live events due to their flexibility and predictable performance, particularly in environments where technical failure is not an option.

Scene Change is a full-service technical supplier specialising in bespoke event solutions and has been investing in expanding its LED capabilities. The company was the first in Australia to introduce ROE Visual’s Topaz Curve system, strengthening its ability to deliver seamless, non-linear LED designs for complex stage environments.
Grace Kuo, chief strategy officer at ROE Visual, says the ARIA Awards project reflects the ongoing collaboration between the two companies and their shared focus on high production standards. She adds that it is particularly rewarding to see ROE Visual LED technology deployed in such a prominent role on one of Australia’s flagship live events.
