Riedel Group has appointed Gudrun Scharler as CEO of Riedel Networks, succeeding Michael Martens, who has led the company since 2012.
Martens will support a structured handover until the end of August, following 14 years in charge of Riedel Networks. During his tenure, the company expanded its secure networks and IT security business, growing from €2.8m in revenue and 12 employees to €24m and 70 employees.
Scharler joins Riedel Networks with executive experience across telecommunications, technology and operations. She previously served as chief operations officer at Unitymedia and has held senior leadership roles at Nets Group, E-Plus, Sunrise Communications and Telefónica Germany. More recently, she worked in leadership roles at Canyon Bicycles and P2 eBike.
Frank Eischet, COO of Riedel Group, said Scharler’s background in telecommunications, operations and transformation made her “the right person to guide the company into its next phase of development.”
Scharler said she would focus on continuing the company’s transformation while preserving the flexibility and collaborative approach that define Riedel Networks.
Riedel Networks provides secure network and IT security services, operating as part of the wider Riedel Group.
