Purpose built AI is also considered to be the most trustworthy type of AI for investors, with an endorsement of 92% from surveyed businesses, with almost all (95%) of UK respondents saying that they plan to increase investment in AI over the next year.
Another driver of adoption, cited by 52% of UK businesses surveyed, admitted that pressure from customers was a key driver in the adoption of AI.
Maxime Vermeir, senior director of AI strategy at Abbyy, commented, “It’s no surprise to me that organizations have more trust in small language models due to the tendency of LLMs to hallucinate and provide inaccurate and possibly harmful outcomes. We’re seeing more business leaders moving to SLMs to better address their specific business needs, enabling more trustworthy results.”
