Lotte Cinema in South Korea has installed Barco’s ultra-bright 6P laser cinema projector (DP4K-60L) for premium screens. The projector is being used to project visuals on a 22m wide screen which has been branded by Lotte Cinema as Super Plex.
Lotte Cinema experienced the performance of Barco’s solution at the CinemaCon trade fair held in Las Vegas, USA. It also tested the features of Barco’s DP4K-60L in various circumstances: on different screen sizes, in a 3D configuration and with Polarizing 3D on silver screen.
Cha Woncheon, CEO of Lotte Cinema, said: “Creating a big screen is not so difficult. The key is to provide the sound and image quality that suits such a screen. We thoroughly tested Barco’s DP4K-60L for more than two months and are now convinced that Barco laser projection will be the real game-changer for premium cinema.â€
