Leyard videowalls revolutionise research for Joint Research Centre
The Joint Research Centre Zeeland (JRCZ) in Middleburg, the Netherlands, now harnesses a selection of Leyard LED systems for regular meetings and interactive group VR sessions using active 3D glasses.

The JRCZ includes a data lab with cutting-edge chemistry and engineering labs, as well as an ecology lab for saltwater research.

Leyard Europe products were supplied by integration company, Ocular, delivering a Leyard MGP Complete 163-in screen for the facility’s auditorium. This space is also home to an additional space with a large, curved LED canvas that provides an all-encompassing visual display.

The curved LED wall has a total resolution of 4320x1620 pixels, with a 1.2mm pixel pitch. As an active 3D videowall, VR glasses can be worn, with motion tracking enabling visitors to be fully immersed in the experience and the content/data that is being shown. The tracking is enabled via OptiTrack tracking, allowing the eyepoint of participants wearing 3D glasses to be tracked and adjusted in real-time to the content on screen.

Multiple 75-in LCD touchscreens are deployed around the LED wall, with an interactive 4mx1.2m LCD videowall deployed to enable users to examine various types of documents, images and videos. A camera facing the audience and another camera facing the wall also enables remote participants to view content and engage in conversations/brainstorming sessions from anywhere.
