Lab.gruppen welcomes new CEO
Lab.gruppen has appointed Ulf Larson as its CEO, saying goodbye to Tomas Lilja after nearly a decade under his leadership. InAVate caught up with Larson at the ProLight and Sound show in Frankfurt last week.

The appointment will take effect from July 1, 2009 following a hand-over period from current CEO, Tomas Lilja who moves into the software industry after nine years at the helm of Lab.gruppen.

Anders Fauerskov, chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of the parent company, TC Group, welcomed Larson to his new position. “Ulf has many years of experience in senior management at Lab.gruppen. Most importantly, as far as the company’s development is concerned, Larson has been heading up the business units developing the PLM Series Powered Loudspeaker Management systems and the new Lake LM 26 digital audio processor.

“Larson has considerable previous experiences as production manager in the defence industry and was a naval officer in the Swedish Armed Forces. I am confident that he will be able to provide the leadership to execute Lab.gruppen’s aggressive market strategies,” he commented.

Lilja said: “After almost a decade as CEO of Lab.gruppen I have now have decided to take on a new project in the software industry. It hasn’t been an easy choice, but leading Lab.gruppen through several growth phases and the fact that many goals and visions have been accomplished and fulfilled has made me want to take on the new challenges of developing a smaller but potentially successful company once again. The difficult part of my decision is that I will miss my staff, customers and friends within the industry.”

Larson said he embraced the new challenge and commented that he was looking forward to getting out into the marketplace and travelling to see the company’s customers. “[I] am excited by the challenge of taking the company forward as we continue to expand sales in core and newly targeted markets,” he enthused.
