Nexo has delivered a new sound system for a cultural venue in Stockholm’s Järva district, designed to support both live performance and cinema applications within a single space.
Installed at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern in Husby Square, the system forms part of the wider Fokus Järva initiative, a city-backed programme aimed at strengthening education, culture and youth engagement in the area. The venue hosts a mix of activities including theatre, dance, film screenings and exhibitions, requiring a flexible technical setup.

The installation was carried out by Intersonic and is based on Nexo’s ePS series loudspeakers. The configuration includes ePS10 speakers and eLS600 subwoofers as the main system, with ePS8 units handling surround duties and an eLS18 deployed as a floor sub.

The system has been designed to adapt between different use cases. For theatre performances, it operates in an L/C/R configuration with surround support, prioritising speech intelligibility and room coverage. For film screenings, the same system is reconfigured into a Dolby Atmos 7.1 setup, enabling immersive audio playback without the need for additional loudspeaker infrastructure.

Stefan Ljungkvist, sales manager at Intersonic, said: “The same space accommodates both live performances and film screenings, and it’s important that the technology follows the content rather than dominating it.”
