Hexogon Solution, a rental and staging company in Singapore, will be aiming to set a new Guinness World Record for the greatest light output in a projected image using Christie visual solutions. A total of 160 Roadster HDK20K-J projectors will be used in the attempt.
The Christie projectors will be employed for a projection mapping performance at the opening ceremony of the Southeast Asian Games which will be held at Singapore’s National Stadium on 5 June 2015. The total brightness for the spectacle is expected to hit 3,200,000 million lumens – about three times brighter than the current record achieved by Freightliner Trucks (USA) at Hoover Dam, in Boulder City, Nevada, USA, on 4 May 2015.
Hexogon Solution has installed the projectors and they have been 20 specially-built towers above the highest seating area in the stadium. The projected images will be in 4K resolution and are driven by 18 units of the coolux Pandoras Box media server.
Adrian Goh, managing director of Hexogon Solution, said: “We are hopeful that with our setup of 160 Christie Roadster HD20K-J projectors – each producing 20,000 lumens – we are able to smash the current record and emerge as the new record holder. At the same time, we’re proud to present an exciting projection mapping show at the opening of this eagerly-anticipated sports event. It has taken us a month to complete the entire installation process and we’re fully committed to deliver a top-notch performance.â€
