Gauzy unveils one of the world’s largest transparent displays in Miami
A game-changing, 1,100 sq m smart glass installation is lighting up Miami’s skyline… literally.

Gauzy, a specialist in light and vision control technologies, has revealed its smart glass façade at the brand-new MSC Terminal in Miami.

The installation features Gauzy’s exterior-grade grey PDLC (polymer dispersed liquid crystal) adhesive smart film integrated into 75% of the terminal’s glass exterior. The result is a structure that shifts seamlessly from functional to spectacular: transparent by day to let in sunlight and frame views of Biscayne Bay, then transforming into a digital canvas by night.

The façade becomes a dynamic artwork after sunset, displaying real-time data animations from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Created by artist Danielle Roney, the installation visualises oceanic elements like tides, currents, and weather patterns to create a poetic fusion of technology, nature, and public art.

The smart glass display also meets Miami’s public artworks ordinance, which mandates artistic integration in major developments.
