Facebook has unveiled a business service for its Portal video-calling device, Portal for Business, designed for small/medium sized businesses with remote workers.
Portal for Business allows users to use the Portal’s video calling and collaboration tools to create and manage Facebook work accounts, a new kind of Portal account type that will be available for a number of Facebook work products over the year.
The service’s Portal device manager allows companies to manage devices that have been set up by employees with access to Portal for Business, allowing for simplified deployment and management of Portal devices.
Features include the ability to control work accounts, manage device settings, see device status and reboot or factory reset devices remotely.
Portal for Business is currently undergoing beta testing in the US, with an early access program currently underway.
