Exterity and Sahara named in top ’1000 companies to inspire Britain’ list
Exterity and Sahara were identified as two of the London Stock Exchange Group’s ‘1000 companies to inspire Britain’ 2020, recognising the UK’s fastest growing and most dynamic small and medium sized businesses (SMEs).

The report highlights the regional and sector diversity of the UK’s SMEs and the entrepreneurial efforts of the companies.

Exterity found itself in the revenue range of £10 million to £20 million, with Sahara clocking in with a revenue range of £50 million to £75 million.

Colin Farquhar, CEO, Exterity commented: “Exporting has been critical to the growth and success of the company since our first international sale in 2006 and now accounts for 75% of turnover. Having such a global reach has mitigated exposure to economic challenges in any single region. We have experienced significant growth from large-scale projects, particularly in the government sector, in all the key regions in which we operate.

“While Exterity’s core business is geared towards enterprise and venue solutions, one of our fastest-growing sectors has been hospitality – notably the hotel and cruise industries, across Europe, the Middle East and APAC in particular. In 2018, we established Accommtec, a division of Exterity, in response to accelerating demand for complete hospitality technology solutions. Within 24 months, Accommtec now represents 20% of Exterity Group’s turnover.”

Companies featured in the report had to demonstrate strong revenue growth over the last three years, outperforming their sector peers.

Mark Starkey, CEO, Sahara Presentation Systems, added: "‘To be selected for the list, we had to demonstrate revenue growth over the last three years whilst outperforming our sector peers. The result is a unique and varied list of the UK’s most dynamic companies, of which Sahara and in particular the Clevertouch brand is delighted to be a part of. Being on the list adds to our message within the market and is a huge reward to our colleague’s hard work."
