The Elmia convention centre has become the first of its kind to be equipped with Digital Projection’s advanced Satellite MLS projection system.
Comprising four large exhibition halls and several smaller spaces, the facility required an upgrade its projection system, calling on Austman Consulting to deliver the system.
Space in the venue was limited for the install, installing the projector head in the control room and the light sources in a different room to remove the problem of heat and noise. This also lowers the projection room temperature by 10 degrees Celsius and improves the working environment.
By separating the heat-producing light sources, rack mounted in a standard 4U module in an adjacent room, the team saved money by not having to rebuild the control room by rack-mounting the projector in an adjacent room.
The projector head is installed behind a hole in the hole in the back wall in Rydbergsalen, outputting a six metre-wide image at a distance of 22 metres. The system is paired with a Titan projector head, chosen for its balance of brightness and price point.
