d&b XSL debuts in Jordan for 80th independence day celebration
d&b’s XSL system was used for the first time in Jordan for the country’s 80th independence day celebration.

With live orchestral music, choir performances, playback video elements, and a keynote address by King Abdullah II of Jordan, the production required a sound system that could deliver crystal clear speech intelligibility, musical clarity, consistent audience coverage, and high gain before feedback in a live broadcast environment.

TriTec AC was selected to deploy a left/right main system which consisted of d&b XSL hangs, featuring 10 XSL8 per side and supported by four flown XSL-SUBs behind each main array. XSL12 cabinets were also used as front fills for the front-row and centre audience areas.

For the address by King Abdullah II, the XSL series provided vocal definition and intelligibility, while maintaining the power and refinement required for an event of national importance.

The main system was complemented with d&b T-series loudspeakers in line array format as side fills, with six d&b M2 monitor loudspeakers deployed across the stage to assist solo singers and centre-stage dancers. The system was powered by d&b D80 amplifiers as well as signal distribution via Dante.

Marwan R Abujaber, CEO and owner, TriTec AV, explained: “This was a proud moment for TriTec AV and for the Jordanian production industry. Introducing the d&b XSL System to Jordan at such an important national event allowed us to demonstrate the system’s power, clarity, and control in a truly meaningful setting. The cardioid performance made a major difference on stage, especially with the orchestra and choir, while the system delivered the speech intelligibility and musical quality required for an event of this importance.”
