CIE will be representing Axis IP audio tech in the UK
Network video technology specialist Axis Communications has signed CIE to handle its IP audio systems in the UK market.

Axis recently expanded its IoT product development strategy by launching the IP audio range for commercial audio and security markets. It now hopes that audio-over-IP specialist distributor CIE can convey the benefits of IP technology and help shift users away from analogue systems.

Atul Rajput, regional director, Northern Europe at Axis Communications, said: "When Axis introduced the world's first IP camera 20 years ago we saw a great market opportunity to help shift the physical security industry from analogue to digital technology.

"This transition has not only made our world safer, but also smarter. Now, as we place increased focus in audio technology, we believe we can utilise our IP expertise to offer something different to the professional audio industry.

"Having looked at the audio market, we realised that we needed to work with a partner that could help us drive this convergence between the security and the audio industries. It was clear that CIE's years of experience and expertise in professional sound provided us with the natural fit to bring our network audio solution to the market."

CIE will supporting Axis with its professional audio expertise and manage distribution and training for the audio-over-IP product range to UK installers and systems integrators.

Kevin Sherwood, sales director at CIE, said: "There are many parallels between CIE and Axis Communications - in particular, with regards to the levels of service and support we are striving to deliver to our customers, as well as both companies being instrumental in promoting the migration from analogue to IP technology in our respective markets.

"We're extremely excited to be working alongside Axis with this innovative new range and to help the Axis brand become as successful in the AV world as it is in its traditional security industry."
