Barco has promoted Ann Desender to the position of CFO from her current role as vice president of finance and control following the departure of Carl Peeters.
Desender, who joined Barco in 2008 and has led the company’s global finance team since 2010, will now report directly to the CEO.
She holds a master’s degree in Applied Economic Sciences from the University of Ghent and completed an advanced management program at IESE Barcelona. She held roles at Unilin, Arthur Anderson and Deloitte before joining Barco.
Carl Peeters, who joined Barco in 1987, was appointed CFO in 2010 and leaves to take on group CFO responsibilities at Greenyard Foods.
Eric Van Zele, CEO of Barco and Jan De Witte, CEO designate, said “Carl has been a long term senior manager with Barco and throughout his career has played an important role in the success of Barco. We wish to thank Carl for his many years of solid contributions and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours. With Ann Desender we capitalise on strong internal finance capabilities and leadership talent. Ann and Carl will work together to ensure a smooth transition over the summer.”
