Systems integrator AVI-SPL will reveal plans on its evolving climate strategy, highlighting two interconnected actions that reflect a new, enterprise-scale approach to sustainability in the AV and IT integration industry: a commitment to set Science Based Targets (SBTs) and a UN-aligned REDD+ investment in rainforest conservation in Ecuador.
These actions represent a single, integrated climate strategy. One focused on systematically reducing emissions across AVI-SPL’s operations and value chain as the business grows, and the other focused on protecting critical natural ecosystems that regulate the global climate and support Indigenous communities.
“This isn’t a pledge. It’s a strategy,” said Tim Riek, chief strategy officer at AVI-SPL. “We believe leadership today means taking responsibility for the full impact of our business. We’re a company designed to grow responsibly and operate transparently on a global scale. That means reducing our environmental footprint in line with global best practices and protecting the natural systems that sustain the planet and the communities we serve.”
AVI-SPL’s commitment to set Science Based Targets establishes a rigorous, globally recognized framework for reducing greenhouse gas emissions across its operations and value chain. At the same time, its REDD+ investment in Ecuador supports the protection of one of the world’s most important carbon sinks and biodiversity hotspots, while also strengthening local and Indigenous stewardship.
This isn’t offsetting. It’s contributing. It’s a climate strategy built on integrity, balance, and long-term impact. “For us, this is about doing the right thing, not just the required thing,” said Kelly Bousman, SVP of ESG and sustainability at AVI-SPL. “Setting Science Based Targets is how we’ll hold ourselves accountable to real, measurable progress. Investing in rainforest conservation is about recognizing our responsibility to the communities and ecosystems that make life and work possible. Together, these actions reflect who we are as a company and how we intend to lead, with care, with integrity, and with a long-term view.”
