Avaya has bought Israeli headquartered videoconfencing manufacturer, Radvision in a move that will bolster the communication and collaboration giant’s unified communication platform and extend its offerings for mobile devices.
A $230 million deal has been approved by each company’s board of directors and is expected to close within three months.
The announcement puts to bed acquisition rumours that have surrounded Radvision for many months and provides the company with access to strong global marketing and support.
In a statement released today Avaya said Radvision’s enterprise video infrastructure and endpoints will be integrated with its Aura UC platform.
The company highlights Radvision’s strength in the enterprise and small business market and suggests the collaborative offering will bolster support for the growing "bring your own device" trend.
