Absen has announced that it has created the “world’s largest LED virtual production volume”, the world’s largest monolithic LED VP stage with a single-screen pixel record.
The volume, titled the Versatile AI Virtual Film Base, is located in Deqing, China, and was created in collaboration with Versatile, featuring a 270-degree curved LED screen with a diameter of 50 metres and a height of 12 metres.
The total floor area of the stage reaches 5,000 square metres, with the LED display covering approximately 1,700 square metres, the size of four standard basketball courts.
The facility allows scene changes to be completed in minutes, with both Absen and Versatile teams working closely from early-stage planning to on-site installation and calibration.
