22’ transparent display at IFA 2011
A 22” transparent OLED TV has turned up at consumer electronics show, IFA in Berlin. The LET-22TC panel is exhibited by Chinese electronics and home appliances company, Haier and has WSXGA+ resolution of 1680x1050. Details surrounding the product are currently scarce but you can watch a brief video of it in action on the show floor.

The product has sparked speculation from OLED-Info.com as to whether it is genuinely an OLED display with an article on the news resource site arguing that the panel is probably an LCD display.

OLED-Info argues that it boasts the same size and resolution as the Samsung 22” transparent LCD, a display that was put into mass production earlier this year. The article alleges that a transparent OLED would not be able to block light effectively to become black.
