When a leading Belgian hospital consolidated its operations into one new high-tech campus it wanted a suite of meeting rooms to match sophistication of the medical and patient care equipment in other areas of the site. Integrator BIS implemented a solution high in functionality and easy to control.
The Az Damiaan Hospital in Ostend recently opened new premises on Gouwelozestraat, bringing together a number of previously disparate sites. The hospital felt that having all departments on one campus would improve its services to patients.
The new building didn’t disappoint. The facility, that incorporates the latest equipment and technologies for medical procedures as well as wireless internet and flatscreen televisions for each bed, quickly won praise from doctors and patients alike. Patients were even provided with equipment to control their own personal environment.
Part of the development included a suite of meeting rooms comprising a boardroom for meetings with other regional hospitals, a meeting room for internal affairs and a room dedicated to education and training.
For the technology within the rooms, the hospital turned to European ICT and AV integrator BIS who worked with the hospital’s IT department to embark on an installation based on three key pillars demanded by the hospital: Sustainable and reliable AV equipment, modern facilities and intuitive control.
BIS had an existing relationship with Az Damiaan after installing projectors and displays in the hospital’s original building. However, this meeting room installation called for more sophisticated solutions.
