St. Helena High School in California, USA, now uses a AV system that enhances on-site instruction and enables attendance for remote students.
The school turned to E.R.I.C. Low Voltage Services to design and program, alongside Consolidated Networks Corporation who carried out the integration of an Extron NAV Pro AVoIP system and SMP 111 streaming media processor.
The NAV Pro AVoIP system is used to tie three broadcast-quality 4K HDMI PTZ cameras to the facility’s 55-in displays, providing content to the streaming system.
An Extron NAV E 101 encoder is mounted with each camera to share video from the chef’s grill/range station and two food preparation stations, with a fourth camera and encoder installed for a heads-on view of the chef.
The chef’s PC is and an Extron TLP Pro 1225TG 12-in tabletop TouchLink Pro touchpanel are also installed on a shelf beneath one of the prep tables, protected from heat and splashes.
The PC is also connected to an Extron NAV E 201 D wallplate HDMI encoder, with an Extron MediaPort 200 HDMI and audio to USB scaling bridge supporting the PC’s USB signals, converting USB to HDMI.
Brian Baesler, program manager, Consolidated Networks Corporation, commented: “Integration of Extron's NAV Pro AV over IP system and the SMP 111 streaming processor lets the students at home be on the same page as those in the classroom. "This makes the AV system just what the chef ordered."
