Zoom adds Zoom for Home support for smart displays

To support remote/home workers, Zoom has announced that its Zoom for Home support is now available for smart displays, with Zoom on Portal available in September alongside Zoom on Amazon Echo Show and Zoom on Google Nest Hub Max to be made available in the autumn.

Zoom on Portal will allow users to use a device that allows one-touch join communication and digital whiteboarding for Zoom Meetings. Portal’s smart camera keeps users in frame for video calls, with Zoom on Portal available on Portal Mini, Portal and Portal+ with support for Portal TV being added in the future.

Zoom on Amazon Echow Show will allow users to join Zoom video conferences from some Echo Show devices, with users able join by saying “Alexa, join my Zoom meeting”.

If a calendar is linked to the Alexa app, Alexa will automatically start scheduled meetings without the need to know a meeting ID or passcode, with support starting with the Echo Show Eight later in 2020.

Zoom on Google Nest Hub Max will add capabilities of Zoom video meetings onto the device, integrating with Google Calendar and Google Assistant, with hands-free controls with commands such as “Hey Google, join my next meeting”. Zoom will be available on Assistant-enabled displays including the Nest Hub Max by the end of 2020.
