ViewSonic has expanded its Luminous Superior Series with two 4,000 lumens laser projectors designed for use in business and education.
The LSD400W and the short-throw LSD400HDST offer high brightness while consuming up to 49% less power than comparable lamp-based models, according to the manufacturer.
The LSD400 Series uses third-generation laser phosphor technology with a claimed lifespan of 30,000 hours, aiming to cut down on maintenance and reduce waste from lamp replacements. Lower operating temperatures are said to result in quieter fan operation, while a sealed, filter-free engine is designed to prevent dust ingress and extend reliability.

For deployment flexibility, the series supports 360° projection, horizontal/vertical keystone correction and four-corner adjustment. The short-throw model can deliver a 100-in image from 1.1m, making it suitable for smaller meeting spaces or classrooms. Both models can scale up to 300-in images.

LAN control with Crestron certification and support for third-party systems allows IT teams to manage multiple projectors centrally, a feature intended to support large-scale rollouts. The projectors are powered by DLP technology to maintain consistent brightness and colour, with a dedicated Golf Mode offered for simulation environments.

The additions strengthen ViewSonic’s lamp-free portfolio, which now represents the majority of its projector lineup.
