SoundTube Entertainment has announced the release of four IP65-rated surface-mount speakers.
Designed to offer broad dispersion and high intelligibility, the SM52-EZ, SM52-EZ-WX, SM82-EZ-II and SM82-EZ-II-WX are suited for both indoor and outdoor music and paging applications.
All four products have achieved an IP65 rating, with the –WX models dust-tight and capable of withstanding water jets aimed directly at the speakers and the standard (-EZ) models achieving the rating when its port plug is installed.
SM-EZ speakers are constructed with polypropylene woofers (5.25-in in the SM52-EZ and SM-52-EZ-WX; 8-in in the SM82-EZ-II and SM82-EZ-II-WX) and soft dome tweeters. All models feature SoundTube’s BroadBeam Ring technology for intelligibility even off-axis locations. Enclosures for the SM52-EZ and SM82-EZ-II are ported, with port plugs included for outdoor use; grilles and mounting hardware are constructed in aluminium.
For extreme weather resistance, the SM52-EZ-WX and SM82-EZ-II-WX versions feature sealed enclosures, aluminium grilles, and stainless steel fasteners and mounting brackets.
A 32W transformer with 6 position tap switch in the SM52-EZ and SM82-EZ-II offers 25.5V, 70.7V and 100V operation with an 8 ohm bypass. The SM82-EZ-II and SM82-EZ-II-WX uses a 64W transformer with six position tap switch and 8 ohm bypass. Inputs are made via ceramic terminal strips, making them speakers suitable for European voice evacuation systems.
The speaker range will be on display at ISE 2017, taking place from February 7 to 10, 2017 at the RAI in Amsterdam.
