Sony has introduced two 4K projectors, one aimed at delivering high brightness while the other offers ultra-short throw functionality.
The Sony VPL-GTZ1 4K Ultra-Short Throw projector is able to throw 4K images of 147in to 66in on a plain white surface from a throw distance of 7in to 0in respectively. Imaging is powered by Sony’s 4K SXRD (Silicon X-tal Reflective Display) technology through a laser phosphor light source which provides 2,000 lumens brightness and has a life span of 20,000 hours.
On the other hand the Sony SRX-T423 is meant for large venue applications. The product offers 3D dual projection at 23,000 lumens which can be increased to 30,000 lumens and 40,000 lumens. It is also fitted with Sony’s 4K SXRD technology and sports dedicated red, green and blue panels for projection. Vertical tilt angle of 30 degrees allows for flexible installation and integrators can consider using the Sony SRX-T423 even for domes.
