The Hawaii Pacific University (HPU) has improved its Esports Arena offering at the Aloha Tower Marketplace with an Extron XTP system, overhauling the facility’s AV capabilities.
An Extron XTP II CrossPoint matrix switching system powers real-time transmission of gaming content, player statistics, and other dynamic media to multiple professional-grade display devices throughout the arena, delivering seamless gameplay and instantaneous delivery with full signal integrity.
The HPU Esports arena features 30 player stations, some of which are supported by multiple consoles and monitors, nine 55-in and 65-in 4K displays, as well as two projection systems.
The AV system centres on the XTP offering, with the matrix switcher’s 50 Gbps digital backplane providing instantaneous switching without signal lag or delays, with hot-swappable XTP I/O boards to support remote endpoints and local HDMI sources with video resolutions up to 4K/60 at 4:4:4 colour sampling and data rates up to 18 Gbps.
