Sony has announced its DWM-30 digital wireless microphone, successor to the DWM-02N digital wireless microphone.
The DWM-30 microphone is available in two models in Europe, covering a range of wide bandwidth of up to 148 MHz.
The battery of the DWM-30 has been improved by approximately one hour compared to the previous model, offering six hours of continuous operation for long-term use.
The microphone offers Codec Mode 2, delivering a latency level of 1.2msec, as well as supporting Codec Mode 4, allowing up to 16 channels per TV band with a wide band of up to 148MHz in the TV white space band/375 kHz channel plan.
A high gain mode allows for three-stage amplification of +6/+12/+18dB, amplifying sound even when the microphone is held away from the mouth during recording, increasing sensitivity.
The DWM-30 will be released in spring 2025.
