Matrox launches Origin Fabric SDK for asynchronous media transport

Matrox Video has unveiled Matrox Origin Fabric, a new low-level C++ SDK designed to simplify asynchronous media content sharing across applications using the most efficient available transport methods.

Developed over five years and proven in real-world deployments as part of the wider Matrox Origin framework, Origin Fabric will now be offered as a standalone product for OEM customers and media application developers. It provides the same scalable and resilient transport layer that underpins Origin, enabling integration without requiring a full re-architecture of existing platforms.

Key features include intelligent automatic routing between sources and destinations, whether via shared memory for local transfers, TCP for compatibility, or RDMA for low-latency, high-bandwidth networking. The SDK also supports multi-producer redundancy with automatic failover and a universal architecture designed to connect applications from multiple vendors in distributed, cloud-based, or microservice-driven environments.

Matrox Origin Fabric is aimed at developers and OEMs seeking to improve performance, enhance interoperability, or extend existing solutions with advanced transport features. Beta testing will begin in September 2025, with general availability expected by the end of the year.
