Lightware has launched an update for its MX2 matrix switchers, unlocking 5K resolution support without any hardware modifications.
Integrators can now access support for 5K ultrawide displays by applying the latest firmware update to the MX2 switchers, enabling the MX2 to handle 5120x2160 resolution via HDMI 2.0 (30Hz 4:4:4 or 60Hz 4:2:0) and DisplayPort 1.2 (30Hz 4:4:4).
Units that are already deployed are compatible with the update, eliminating the need for any hardware or cabling upgrades.
