Extron releases compact two channel amplifier

Extron Electronics has announced the release of the XTRA Series XPA 1002-100V, a compact two channel amplifier designed for high impedance systems.

A half rack 1U, convection cooled power amplifier, the XPA 1002-100V provides two channels of 100 watts rms for 100 volt distributed speakers. It features a 100 dB signal-to-noise ratio and 0.1% THD+N specifications.

The amplifier is Energy Star qualified and features it features patented CDRS - Class D Ripple Suppression technology. Extron’s Class D amplifier design allows it to be convection cooled and generate low heat.

The XPA 1002-100V has an auto-power down feature that automatically places the amplifier into standby after a period of inactivity, and consumes just 11.4W when idle and less than 1W in standby mode. It also has an ultra low inrush current draw to prevent power circuit overload from multiple amplifiers being switched on simultaneously.

The XPA 1002-100V is housed in a half rack width metal enclosure, weighs 2.5 lbs (1.1 kg) and is UL 2043 plenum rated when used with the optional Flexible Conduit Adapter Kit.
