Audio-Technica launches Dante-enabled ceiling speaker

Audio-Technica has announced the availability of a Dante-enabled version of its recently-released ATSP-30 ceiling speaker, for small-to-medium-sized meeting rooms.

The ATSP-30DP speakers are supplied as a pair – one active, one passive – that connect to each other via standard speaker cable. Mounting flush in drop or hard ceilings with the included mounting hardware, the 10.4-in diameter speakers feature a 140° coverage angle and boast excellent low-to-mid frequency reproduction, making them suitable not only for microphone amplification but also for playing background music and audio from video sources.

Discrete audio signals can be sent to the ATSP-30DP (either individually or paired) – a helpful option for zone-based sound reinforcement and background music playback. For planning purposes, the ATSP-30 speakers are compatible with AFMG’s EASE software for convenient 3D sound modeling of the installation space.

Audio-Technica also offers its own Speaker Layout Tool, which estimates sound pressure levels for a proposed speaker setup in a given space.

Once installed, the speakers’ onboard DSP settings, including 4-band EQ, sound profile presets, delay, power restriction, phase shift and connection status can be adjusted via the ATDM mixer’s Web Remote to dial in the best sound based on a room’s acoustics.
