Alcons Audio will show off the production version of its pro-ribbon line array, the LR24, at Prolight + Sound in Frankfurt.
The LR24 pro-ribbon line array system was previewed at the show last year.
It is designed to be able to deliver the same SPL as equivalent products in the mid-size line array category, but with 15dB less distortion.
Also on show will be two new subwoofers, the BC543 and BQ211. The BC543 is designed for both permanent and portable ground-stacked applications.
The unit’s front features two 18”, long-excursion cardioid woofers, complemented by a 5.3” voice-coil with vented triple-spider frame, Neodymium motor structure, carbon fibre cone and dust cap. The rear features a single driver of the same specification. The extreme excursion capabilities of the design extends the output by 3.5dB, compared to traditional 18” woofer designs.
The cabinet features front, centrally-located X Venting and a rear Flank Venting port.
The BQ211 is a high output system based on the all carbon-coned 21” woofer. Featuring a Neodymium transducer, it is designed to offer maximum, prolonged SPL performance from a relatively small footprint.
Prolight + Sound will also see Alcons preview its new product group, the P-Series.
Meanwhile, that vision will be plain to both see and hear at ProLight+Sound 2011’s 3D Live In Concert experience. Located on stand L28, Hall 8.0, it will allow visitors to experience the very best that 3D sound and vision technologies have to offer.
