New Acoustipics panels combine sound management with wall art

A new sound management product that doubles as decorative wall art has been unveiled, aiming to improve sensory comfort in both commercial and residential environments.

Launched during a dedicated event at the Cornflake smart home automation showroom in London on March 19, Acoustipics are customisable picture panels engineered to absorb sound through a three-layer structure.

Created to reduce excess noise and support clearer communication, the panels provide benefits in spaces used by those with special educational and sensory needs.

Their versatility also makes them suitable for offices, healthcare environments and homes where sensory comfort is paramount.

Each Acoustipic consists of a printable acoustic fabric that can be tailored to environment and aesthetic.

Beneath the surface lies a deep acoustic foam layer, which helps to dampen sound and minimise reverberation.

The final layer is a narrow acoustic panel that traps an internal air pocket to boost absorption performance.

These layers help prevent speech from being drowned out by ambient noise, creating more comfortable and intelligible environments.

The panels feature a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of 0.8 and are also flame-retardant.

The company says the factory where the acoustic foam is cut also works with the British Woodland Trust to offset emissions.
