Vitec has partnered with LG Electronics to deliver IPTV and digital signage over private 5G networks, targeting large venues and mission-critical enterprise video applications.
The collaboration combines Vitec’s IPTV and digital signage platforms with LG Electronics’s private 5G network technology. The companies said the integrated system is designed to provide a “wire-like” experience for video distribution without relying on fixed network connections.
The solution is aimed at sports and entertainment venues, airports, conference centres, hotels, casinos and other large public venues. It is intended to allow organisations to add screens without network drops, support portable or temporary installations and extend IPTV or signage systems into new indoor and outdoor areas without additional cabling.
Eli Garten, senior vice president, global IPTV and partner solutions at Vitec, said: “This combined solution gives large-scale venues flexibility to deploy IPTV and digital signage without the constraints of wired infrastructure.”
Private 5G networks are on-site cellular networks operating on licensed spectrum, giving organisations greater control over performance, security and reliability than shared wireless environments. Vitec and LG Electronics said this makes the technology suitable for real-time video applications where consistency and low latency are critical.
The companies said private 5G can also offer improved coverage in large or complex buildings, with greater range and better penetration through walls and structures than Wi-Fi.
Joon Sung Lee, private 5G head in the LG Electronics CTO’s office, said: “While private 5G is already being adopted across sectors such as manufacturing, transportation and healthcare, its use for enterprise video remains at an early stage. Now, together with Vitec, we are demonstrating how video can be delivered reliably over next-generation wireless networks.”
The integrated solution includes on-site core infrastructure, distributed antennas and centralised management software. It has undergone testing and is based on two existing commercially available technologies.
Vitec and LG Electronics will demonstrate the system at InfoComm 2026 in Las Vegas, using a live private 5G network to deliver video content across the show floor from Vitec booth C9257.
