U2 used every part of Sphere’s LED screen into a gallery showcasing bespoke art from renowned artists including Es Devlin, John Gerrard, Marco Brambilla, and Industrial Light & Magic, all while performing on a Brian Eno-inspired turntable stage.
The 112-metres hall features what is claimed to be the largest screen in the world with a reported resolution of 19,000x13,500 pixels (1920x1080), covering an area more than 250 metres long.
Before the show began the entire outside facade of The Sphere was covered in bespoke video for this event. Called The Exosphere, it consists of approximately 1.2 million LED pucks, spaced eight-in apart. Each puck contains 48 individual LED diodes, with each diode capable of displaying 256 million different colours.
